Director of Government Affairs, Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce
Alexa covers the Chamber’s education & workforce development policy efforts as well as tax & regulatory affairs. Alexa additionally provides policy and logistical management for the West Michigan Policy Forum, an affiliate organization of the Chamber comprised of business leaders in the West Michigan area. Her background includes political, policy and research opportunities both in Michigan and Washington, D.C.. Alexa is a 2020 graduate of Leadership Grand Rapids, a prestigious, intensive professional leadership program founded on the principles of community, leadership skills, diversity and systems thinking. Alexa is a fellow for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives’ Education & Talent Development program. Alexa is also a part of the first ever Leadership Network Millennial Cohort with American Enterprise Institute.
Alexa attended Michigan State University where she studied Political Science Pre-Law and completed her Master of Public Policy degree in 2017. Alexa enjoys cooking, hanging out with her husband and Mini Australian Shepherd, Otis, and being involved in the community- including mentoring, serving as Vice President of Walker Charter Academy’s Board, and a NextGen Board member of Wedgwood Christian Services.
